Objective
Match each 3D shape to its correct 2D shadow silhouette. Tests 3D-to-2D spatial reasoning — the goal is recognizing which flat silhouette each 3D shape would actually cast.
How to play
- Select a shape from the left column.
- Select the shadow you think matches it from the right column.
- Match all the shapes to their shadows to win.

About Shadow Match
Shadow Match is a quick matching puzzle where you pair solid shapes with the flat silhouettes they would cast. Four shapes sit in one column, four grey shadows sit in the other, and your job is to link each pair. It is a gentle warm-up for picturing how a three-dimensional object collapses into a two-dimensional outline, and it trains spatial reasoning in under a minute.
Tips and strategy
- Start with the shape you are most sure about. Locking in one pair shrinks the choices and makes the remaining decisions easier.
- Picture the light shining straight at the object. A sphere always throws a round outline, so look for the circle first.
- Think about which face is turned toward you. A cube viewed head-on casts a square, which is a different outline from the pointed shape a pyramid throws.
- Tap the shape, then the shadow. If the pair is wrong the selection clears after a moment, so a wrong guess costs you only a move.
- Use elimination at the end. When two shapes remain, the shadows left over must belong to them, so you can finish without guessing.
What it exercises
Shadow Match exercises spatial visualization, the skill of mentally turning a solid object into a flat outline. It also gives practice in comparing shapes quickly, using elimination, and keeping a small set of pairs in working memory while you decide which ones are left.
Frequently asked questions
- How do you play Shadow Match?
- Tap one shape in the left column, then tap the shadow in the right column that you think it casts. A correct pair is locked in and dimmed. Match all four shapes to win.
- What happens if I match the wrong shadow?
- The pair is not locked in, and your selection clears after a brief pause so you can try again. Each attempt counts as a move in the move counter, so careful matching keeps your count low.
- Which shapes appear in Shadow Match?
- The game uses four shapes: a cube, a sphere, a pyramid and a cylinder. Their order is shuffled on the left and the right, so the layout changes between puzzles.
Try next
Bubble Shooter
Aim your launcher and fire colored bubbles up into the wall — bank shots off the side walls for tricky angles — and match 3 or more of the same color to pop them, with dangling bubbles falling away too. Watch for 💣 bombs that blast everything nearby and ⭐ Color Bursts that clear every bubble of one color at once. Miss too many times and a fresh row pushes the whole wall down toward the red line. Clear a wall and the game automatically moves you to the next level.
Number Shooter
Fire numbered tiles up into five columns and match equal numbers to merge them into double. Tiles touching an equal number above, beside or below merge, and merges can chain into big combos. Every few shots a new row of tiles drops from the ceiling, so keep every stack below the red danger line and chase a high score.
Tetris
Guide each falling tetromino into place to fill and clear complete rows before the stack reaches the top. Rotate with ↺ / ↻, flip a half-turn with 180°, move with ◀ / ▶, and soft- or hard-drop with ▼ / ⤓ — every on-screen button doubles as a keyboard key (Z/X to rotate, Shift or F to flip, arrows to move, Space to hard-drop), shown right on the button. Clearing several rows with one piece scores far more than clearing them one at a time, and the pace speeds up every level.
