About Anagrid
Anagrid hands you a jumbled four-by-four square of letters and one big riddle: every row and every column has to end up as a real word. You tap a tile, tap a second tile, and the two swap places. It feels like a crossword and an anagram had a puzzle of their own, and it rewards patient vocabulary work and careful pattern spotting.
Tips and strategy
- Look for tiles that already sit in the right spot. A tile turns green when its letter belongs in that exact cell, so treat green tiles as anchors and avoid swapping them away.
- Start with the corners and rare letters such as Y, P or Z. Awkward letters have few legal homes, so placing them early narrows everything else.
- Think about word endings. A letter like S, D or E often closes a row or column, so try parking those at the edges of the grid first.
- Each swap changes one row and one column at the same time, so before you commit, picture both words that the move will affect.
- If you feel stuck, deselect by tapping the same tile again and step back to read each row aloud in your head before trying a new swap.
What it exercises
Anagrid exercises vocabulary recall, spelling awareness and the ability to hold several possible words in mind at once. Because every letter belongs to two words, it also builds flexible planning, where you weigh how one change ripples across a row and a column together.
Frequently asked questions

- Yes, the page has a reveal button that shows the solved grid. Use it when you are truly stuck, or start a new scramble to try again with a fresh arrangement.
